| With a lifetime of exposure to different genres of music, Michael Doctor started singing when he was very young. His father, Bernie Doctor, was an amazing vocalist in his day. He honorably served as a Sargent in the U.S. Army in Europe during WWII and toured with the world-famous Andrew Sisters. Over the years, he shared those memories with Michael, leaving a vivid impression on his memory to this day. His father also performed locally so music continually filled their home. His parents took him to his first concert featuring Ella Fitzgerald at the age of 10. He watched in wide-eyed awe and after the concert, his passion for the bright lights was kindled. | ![]() |
| Michael started his first band at age twelve. Even though the "Mod Min" was a small garage band, the desire to perform became even stronger. In high school, he performed in the choir, the ensemble and the glee club. His vocal training as a tenor garnered him lead roles in Fiddler on the Roof and The Student Prince. |
| "Felony" was Michael's next musical experience. The band performed rock and roll locally from 1977 to 1982. However, young and newly married, life interrupted his musical ambitions with a focus in public service in Civil Engineering. |

Michael's
musical journey resumed many years later, when he was asked to record
a duet with Stephanie
Lynne Mason on her debut CD. His vocal strength really
shines on this recording of "The
Prayer". After several live performances with Stephanie,
promoting her CD, his passion for the stage was now permanently embedded.

| In 2007, Michael auditioned for the new 80's classic rock cover band, THESE GUYS LIVE. They quickly developed into an elite Central Ohio group performing 45-55 shows annually. The band's reputation earned them the opportunity to open for such legendary stars as Rick Springfield (twice), and the late great Eddie Money. TGL celebrated its thirteenth year in April, 2020 and is looking forward to many more. | ![]() |
